Mrs. Virginia McCrudden passed away peacefully at the Regency in Fallbrook where she was a long time resident. She was widowed in 2000 with the passing of her husband, James (Jim). They were a lively couple who enjoyed their many friends and their three daughters, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Virginia was born and raised in Seattle, Wa., the youngest of four children. Her father, John F. Dore served as Mayor of Seattle from 1932-1934 and 1936-38. Her mother was Marian Neal Dore of St Jo, Missouri.
Virginia met and married (1941) James F.McCruddden Jr., a Navy officer and close friend of her brother, also a Navy officer in the South Pacific fleet.
After the war, they moved to the east coast where Jim entered in to the steel industry as an executive. They made their home in Larchmont, N.Y. for 15 years and Wayne, Pa. until Jim's death.
Virginia will be missed by her family and friends who fondly recall her humor, engaging stories, and enjoyment of reading and painting. She is survived by her three married daughters: Sarah Imperato of Fallbrook, Ca. (Pascal), Linda McCrudden of Raleigh, N.C. (Stuart Berde), and Barbara Gilbert of Radnor, Pa. (Richard).
The family extends special thanks to caregivers at the Regency and Seasons Hospice for the compassionate care provided. Following cremation, Virginia will be buried with her husband in Philadelphia, Pa. in the spring of 2016.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated for all those who knew her and would like to join us. It is our great comfort that our mother died in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, redeemed and at peace with God.
