Obituary

Stanley H. Meyers, of Bonsall, California, went home to his Heavenly Father on September 18, 2019.
Stan was born in Green Isle, Minnesota on April 13, 1933. He joined the National Guard when he was 14 years old. Then later joined the Navy at 16 years old. He married Betty Mae Ely on March 24, 1956. He continued his formal education as an adult, eventually earning his Master of Science Degree from the University of Southern California.
After the Navy, Stan joined the California Highway Patrol, where he worked for 27 years—rising to the rank of Lieutenant. Upon retirement, he started his own company—using his skills and expertise to reconstruct car accidents. Throughout his life, Stan enjoyed fishing and working out. He spent his second retirement playing golf at El Camino Country Club and with the Fallbrook Seniors. He was also actively involved in his church. He attended and served for many years at Grace Church of Cyprus, California and then at Sonrise Christian Fellowship in Fallbrook, California.
Stan is remembered as a faithful man, admired for his high character and strong sense of duty. Many people looked up to him as a hero. He even received a Medal of Valor from the California Highway Patrol for rescuing a woman attempting suicide from the top of the Vincent Thomas Bridge in the Los Angeles Harbor.
Stan is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Meyers. As well as his daughters, LeAndra Meyers (married to Robin Love) and Melanie Trevino (married to Alex Trevino), three grandchildren, Crystal Moore (Matt), Scott Trevino (Keila) and Abbra Zimprich (Tim), 7 great grandchildren, and his nephew and nieces.
Stan will be buried with military honors at Miramar National Cemetery at an intimate family service. The memorial service to celebrate Stan's life will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 1:30pm at Sonrise Christian Fellowship in Fallbrook, California. Pastor Jerome Marroquin will be officiating.
