Obituary

We all share in the passing of a loving, gracious, faithful and overall an amazing person, Silvina Garcia.  She was born in Tala, Jalisco, Mexico, to Sebero Garcia and Teodocia Gomez, being the first of five children.  As a young girl, she moved several times, settling in "El Valle" where she grew up helping with a wide range of family chores.  She was very proud that her father taught her how to read and write from the four gospels.

On April 10, 1948 at the age of 19, she married Isidoro Villalobos.  As they began their family, Silvina was fully dedicated to her family, becoming resourceful and working tirelessly to raise and provide for her family. She would cook, bake, milk cows, make fresh corn tortilla and often made clothing for her children. She abundantly provided and was noble in taking care of those around her.

In July of 1972, at the age of 43, with her family she moved to Rainbow, in Southern California, where she continued to be an amazing mother to her children and an " Abuelita" as the family grew. She thrived and loved taking care of the family and enjoyed having family visits and gatherings. Having children around her brought her much joy and happiness. She was blessed with 11 children, 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Silvina lived a modest and happy life, with a positive outlook, and deeply rooted in her faith.  She enjoyed reading prayer books, saying her daily prayers and praying the rosary.  Her self-giving, kind-hearted, and personal charm was like no other. Her graceful aura was attractive to others, whether at church or the stores, strangers would make their way for a friendly conversation, even though she spoke little English.

Silvina lived by example, lived by her faith, was full of love and kindness and always put others ahead of herself.

We were Blessed having her in our lives, with many fond memories. She will be dearly missed, but she will be kept and cherished her in our hearts.
