Russell Wayne
Rogers
Nov 12, 1964 — May 27, 2025
With broken hearts and lasting love, we announce the passing of Russell Wayne Rogers—known as Russ to those close to him. He was a devoted husband, beloved father, proud Papa, loyal friend, and a 24-year veteran of the United States Navy. Russ passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, at the age of 60.
Born on November 12, 1964, and raised in Oregon, Russ was a rowdy country boy at heart. Whether he was knee-deep in the woods, turning a wrench, or blasting classic country music, he lived life on his own terms—with grit, pride, and a "my way or the highway" attitude. He had a sarcastic sense of humor that could cut through tension or spark laughter in any room, and he never missed a chance for a quick one-liner or a well-timed smirk.
Russell joined the United States Navy and gave 24 years of honorable service to his country. It was during this time, while stationed in Long Beach, California, that he met the love of his life, Joanne. They married in September 1992 and spent over 30 wonderful years building a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
As a father, Russ was fiercely protective. He led with strength, strong values, and unwavering support for his girls. As a Papa, his time was cut short but filled with all the love his granddaughter Lucy could ever need.
He is remembered by his wife, Joanne; his daughters, Megan and Alexis; his granddaughters, Lucy and one on the way; and countless family members, friends, and shipmates who loved and respected him deeply.
Fair winds and following seas, Russell.
You have stood your watch with courage and grace. Rest now in peace.
