Robert Howard Walters passed away August 21, 2015. Robert was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on December 29, 1923. He graduated from Wilson High School in Easton Pa. in 1942. He enlisted in the US Army serving for three years. He fought on the beaches of Normandy as well as the Battle of the Bulge. After returning home from the war, he graduated from Lafayette College in Easton Pa.
In his thirties, he relocated his family to Southern California and remained in Orange County and San Diego County the rest of his life. He worked at several aerospace companies retiring from Boeing aircraft.
Robert is preceded in death by his first wife of 59 years, Bette Walters, his daughter, Cherie Sue Kay, his parents and five of his siblings. He is survived by his second wife, Wilma (Peg) Walters of Fallbrook, Ca. and her sons and daughters. He is also survived by his daughter Pamela (Randy) McNely of Apison, Tn., son Robert (Vanessa) Walters, Lake Elsinore, Ca. , son-in-law Kermit (Rick) Kay, Cle Elum, Wa., granddaughters Chelsea (Ryan) Corley, Kathryn (Matthew) Wear, grandsons Seth, Zack, Tucker, Tanner, and Turner Walters and three great grandchildren Larkin and Keegan Wear and Kellan Corley. He is survived by his brother David Walters of Orange Park, Fl., along with several brother-in-laws, a niece and several nephews.
There will be no visitation or service. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery.
