Enrique "Ricky" Martinez, 19, of Pala, passed away on October 6, 2012. Born May 31, 1993 in Escondido, he lived in Pala his whole life. Ricky was a member of the Pala Band of Mission Indians. He attended the All Tribes Charter School. He was a member of the Kupa Song and Dance Group from the age of 6. He was a Raider fanatic. His pastimes included playing Madden football and hanging out with his family and friends. He was unpredictable, hyphie, big-hearted, creative, energetic, one of a kind, unforgettable, and loyal.



Ricky is survived by his mother, Carol Jean Cagey Jr. of Pala, his father, Henry Martinez of Escondido, sister Kriscinda Cagey, sister and brother-in-law Lacinda Cagey and Miguel Cortez, brother Kyle Layran, uncles Marlon Cagey and Marcel Cagey, aunt Veronica Cagey, and many aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and his campanion Tiara Leal. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Caroline Cagey and Virgil Cagey, and many other family members.



There will be an traditional all night wake at the Old Pala Tribal Hall on Friday, October 12 starting at 4:00 PM. Burial will take place at the Pala Indian Cemetery on Saturday, October 13 at 10:00 AM. Berry Bell and Hall Mortuary is handling arrangements.
