Peter Mungo, 85, died on Thursday, September 26th peacefully at home with his wife and daughter by his side.

Peter was born on January 2, 1939 in Cortale, Italy and immigrated to America with his wife Caterina (Nina), his three children Paul, Teresa and Tony in 1979 where he embraced a new life filled with dedication to both work and family. They lived a short time in Pueblo, Colorado with his sister and her family but found the beauty and weather of California more to his liking. They moved to Long Beach in 1980 and opened a dry cleaner.

In 1985 Peter discovered Fallbrook with the rolling hills and amazing weather that reminded him of Italy. In 1986 he bought his avocado farm that he cared for and built a home in 1992 and moved his family from Long Beach. He spent his days working at the dry cleaners that they owned in town and his evenings driving his tractor on the farm. Every free moment was spent with his wife, children, and friends that he loved like family.

He and Nina were married to 52 years filled with love and memories. He lived the American dream of working hard and building a life for himself and his family.

Peter lived his life to the fullest and made everyone feel like family. He would make friends wherever he went and treated everyone with respect and love. He is greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is survived by his wife Nina; his sons Paul (Dannai) and Tony (Beth); his daughter Teresa (Jason); and his grandchildren, Nicolas, Adriana, Massimo, Alexandria, Joshua and Jonah. His presence in their lives will be profoundly missed.

Viewing will be held at Berry Bell and Hall on Wednesday, October 9th from 4p-8p

And the funeral will take place on Thursday, October 10th at 11am at St Peter Catholic Church

After the funeral there will a small gathering at their home in Fallbrook.
