Penrhyn L. Millsap
Penrhyn was the fourth child of seven, six boys and one girl. Born in Bard, California, on January 30th, 1923.
He attended high school at Coachella Valley Union High School. Upon graduation, he went to San Diego State for one full semester, and then he entered the U.S. Army in 1943. He served in England and France as a Sports Director and was discharged in November of 1945.
In June, 1950, Penrhyn married Haroldine King in June 1950. They had three boys, Lauren, Darryl, and Alan. He was a very industrious man, building his own homes while working as a concrete inspector. He also owned a Janitorial supply company in La Puente. After selling both his business and his home, they moved to Fallbrook in 1988 where he built his last home. After 53 years of marriage, Haroldine died, and four years later he married Jane Cornett. They have been married 9 ½ years. Penrhyn had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There wasn't much that Penrhyn couldn't fix or build. He loved to travel, taking the boys in their trailer to Fish Lake for fishing. Hunting with one of his brothers was a fun thing for him, too. Penrhyn and Haroldine purchased a 5th wheel and a pickup truck and traveled the U.S. for 4 months, among other shorter trips.
After Penrhyn married Jane , they took two cruises and two motor home trips a year until the last two years when it became too difficult to fly. He loved his church and was very committed to helping whenever he saw a need for his talents.
Penrhyn passed away peacefully on his 93rd birthday with family at his side.
