At the early age of 5, Mike discovered his love for cars, trucks and driving. He had fond memories of cranking up the family farm tractor at the age of 6. His friends and neighbors convinced and encourage Mike to consider seeking out the California Highway Patrol (CHP) where he could do what he enjoyed most, helping people in need and drive all day. He applied and graduated from the CHP Academy Class CTC II-82 Company A with academic recognition. Throughout his 30 years of service to the State of California as CHP Officer and Sergeant he had many assignments mainly in Southern California. He met many people and built many relationship based on a true sense of caring for everyone who crossed his path. Mike enjoyed reading, traveling (especially if it involved driving cross-country), cruising and discussing politics. His travels took him across several continents while enjoying the sites and the history of each location accompanied by friends and relatives. The civil war period was his favorite.
