Obituary

Manuel P. Machado, 97, resident of Pala, passed away on October 23, he was born on May 31, 1916 in Los Angeles, California to Juanita and Richard Machado.
Manuel was a Technical Sergeant in the U. S. Army during WWII, and after the war ended, he took a civil service job working on planes at the Naval Air Station in North Island, San Diego, CA. Manuel loved spending time tending to his garden and telling stories of his past and is known for always having a smile.
Manuel is survived by his four nieces, Janet Long and Kathleen Machado of Pala, CA and Mary Bear-Magee and Gloria Wright of Pechanga, CA; and four nephews, George Machado, Edward Machado, John Machado, and Larry Machado of Pala, CA. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Richard, Raymond, and George Machado; sisters, Edna, Celia, and Evelyn Machado; mother, Juanita Ortega; and father, Richard P. Machado.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and a rosary will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, at Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary in Fallbrook, CA, and a Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Mission San Antonio de Pala at 3015 Pala Mission Rd., Pala, CA 92059. Mr. Machado will be buried at Riverside National Cemetery on Thursday, October 31 at 12:30 p.m.
