Lotte Louise Besnard was born July 15, 1934 in Brig-Visp, a small town in the Wallis Valley, home of the Matterhorn, Switzerland. She spent most of her youth in her beloved mountains. She came from a family of mountain guides and her grand-father's picture is proudly on display in Zermatt's museum as one of the guides leading the second ascent of the Matterhorn in 1868. Liselotte, as she preferred to be called, was the 4th of six children. She married in her early twenties and had three children of her own, Christian, Corinne and Pierre-François. Her daughter, Corinne, moved to California in 1980 and Liselotte visited her many times. Her last visit lasted 30 years. She cherished her six grand-children, Thierry, Stéphen, Maddie, Jelena, Fabienne and Patrick and was blessed to have four great-grand-children, Taylan, Alexi, Nathan and Melissa. She went to sleep on June 23, 2017 and leaves a big void in the lives of her family members and of all those whom she touched. She loved her Savior with all of her heart and is resting in Him until the day of the resurrection. Until then, we will continue to miss her, but look forward to the day when He, our God, will wipe every tear from our eyes and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain for the older order of things has passed way. (Rev. 21:4)
