Obituary

Joe was born in Montreal Quebec Canada, April 19, 1940.

When he was 7 years old, his family, including some cousins, drove from Canada to Los Angeles on Route 66, a 2-lane highway at the time. It took them 3 weeks to make the one-way journey through some beautiful country as well as large cities, such as Chicago. It was a very trying trip, but the ultimate destination of their new home in Los Angeles California made it worth it.

Joe and his siblings, Claude and Micheline started school shortly after they arrived, but it was difficult for them because they spoke very little English.

With lots of hard work, Joe completed elementary school and graduated from St. John Bosco High School in Los Angeles. He then pursued a career in the mechanical field and worked his entire career as a machinist for Ford Aerospace, later becoming Lockheed Aerospace. He retired from there in 1997.

While at Ford Aerospace, he married Judy and they had 2 children, Jeff and Jill. They raised the children in the Orange County area. Both children married, adding 4 grandchildren to the family. The family continued to grow and bless Joe with great grandchildren as well.

After retiring from Lockheed Aero Space, he and Judy moved to a slower pace life in Fallbrook. They loved traveling, especially RVing. They also spent a lot of time at their vacation home in Havasu Landing where family and friends would join them.

In 2002 Judy unexpectedly passed away and Joe embarked on a new career, community volunteering. He joined the San Diego Sheriff Senior Volunteers and spent many hours in the field helping to keep the community safe. Then he joined the Foundation For Senior Care, driving the CareVan, enabling seniors to maintain necessary appointments in Fallbrook. He still had time on his hands, so he joined the Fallbrook Food Pantry helping with deliveries, stocking shelves and any other needs they had. He loved volunteering and serving the community.

Through all these endeavors, he met and established many long-lasting friendships in our community. He will be missed by all.

He passed as he requested, in his home with loved ones.
