Janis Bowyer, aged 84, and beloved spouse of Don Bowyer, has passed away after a long journey through dementia in which she never lost her sweet nature and her dazzling smile.  Janis had a long 25 year career ending as an executive secretary in the Teledyne Inc. corporate office, a 10 year career as a paralegal assistant, and a 10 year career as a researcher uniting birth parents with adoptees.

Janis was widely known among her friends for both her sense of humor and for her love of words.  She wrote and published one book based on her experiences and wrote many poems.  Janis particularly enjoyed relating happy stories about the birth parent/adoptee relationships that developed from her business.

She and husband Don loved to camp in their motorhomes, particularly at group outings with one of the camping clubs they belonged to.  Other passions included western dancing and Halloween parties.

Janis is survived by her husband of 41 years, daughter and son Theresa (David) Choate and Brad Bain, and stepdaughter and stepson Karen (Dave) Carnes and Mike (Melanie) Bowyer.  Grandchildren include Ben Choate, Dillon Choate, Nolan Bowyer, Avery Bowyer, Brooke Carnes and Ally Carnes.
