Frances Louise Picker died peacefully in her home on May 3, 2015 at Fallbrook, California. She was born in Leesburg Virginia on September 3, 1921 to Grafton and Gertrude (nee Maley) Alexander.
She married Glenn Junior Johnson in New York on February 25, 1942. However he died during World War 2 on the USS Vincennes after it was sunk by the Japanese during the battle of Savo Island on August 9, 1942. She later moved to San Diego where she met and married Clarence Otto Picker on July 7, 1944.
She worked as key punch operator at the Long Beach Naval Ship Yard and the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station until she retired in 1981. After retirement she moved to Fallbrook with her husband Clarence who preceded her in death on January 3, 2006.
Frances is survived by a son Allen Picker (wife Liz) of Illinois, daughter Carolyn Journey (husband Michael Shields) of Tennessee, and son Brian Picker of California. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She also had many dogs and cats over the years that kept her company and were part of the family. No funeral services are planned, and interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery.
