Erma "Polly" Scrape – 94
After touching the lives of so many around her, Erma "Polly" Scrape left this world peacefully at her residence in Fallbrook on May 24, 2013. Born June 14, 1918 in Joy, Arkansas, Polly was one of ten children born to Frank and Dora Etta Stringfellow. After growing up in Searcy, Arkansas she met and married the love of her life, Forrest "Scrappy" Scrape on December 26, 1936. Being married to a Marine, she lived in Guam for a short time and eventually landed in Fallbrook in 1944 while Scrappy was stationed at Camp Pendleton. Polly was employed on Camp Pendleton as a Civil Service employee for 30 years. She loved living in Fallbrook and was an active member of many organizations such as the Order of the Eastern Star, Community Baptist Church, Fallbrook Golf Club, Vista Valley Country Club and many philanthropic groups. Polly's passion for dancing was obvious to everyone, she and Scrappy spent many hours waltzing and listening to big band music.
