Obituary

Doreen "Doots" Kolb was born in Fallbrook, California to Robert and Illace Lavato on June 24 th , 1948. She was a lifelong entrepreneur and an active political member; served as Vice Chairman for the Pala Band of Mission Indians.

She was a talk show host for 8 years on the Pala Rez Radio 91.3 with her own show, "Back in the day with Doots and Dar," where she and her eldest daughter reminisced to oldies music as they shared their past adventures with relevant tracks that tied into their lives from "back in the day".

Caring, loving and respectful; Doots enjoyed the company of every soul who entered her open home. Selflessly, she never denied one's need for food or shelter, irrespective of their past of creed. She joyfully engaged her guests' presence at all times of the day, and the night.

She was a strong Christian woman who put God first and treasured her family and friends.

Doreen is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Illace Lavato; children, Nadine Vega and William Kolb; brothers and sisters, Duane Lavato, Michael Lavato, Caroline Lavato, Angelo Lavato, and Loretta Lavato.

She is survived by her husband Richard Kolb; brothers and sisters, Mel Lavato Jr., Anthony Lavato, Donna Dominguez and Diana Duro; Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and her dog, Buddy.

Her generous spirit will forever be cherished and influenced in the lives of her surviving children; Darlene Vega, Sophia Vega, Linda Nieto, Loretta Hoaglin, Vanessa Butler, and Chester Kolb.
