Obituary

DONALD EUGENE LOVELADY
December 6, 1928 – September 16, 2017
Donald (Don) Eugene Lovelady of Fallbrook (also know as
Paka to his grandkids, and great-grandkids) went home to
be with the Lord on September 16, 2017. At age 88, Don
passed away peacefully after a long struggle with
Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his wife Helen of 64
years, his two sons Mark Lovelady (Peggi) and Ron
Lovelady (Kate) of Fallbrook, six grandchildren, and seven
great grandchildren.
He was born on December 6, 1928 in Santa Ana, CA. He
severed in the military for a short period before he married
the love of his life, Helen on January 11, 1953. It was in
Santa Ana where he raised his two sons Mark and Ron. In
1984, he retired from the Facilities Department of Santa
Ana College after 30 years of work.
In 1980 Don and his wife Helen moved to Fallbrook and it
is here where he lived out the remainder of his life.
Don's hobbies included gardening, traveling, woodworking, fishing, camping, spending time with family and
friends, and praising the Lord. He especially loved making projects and giving them as gifts to his grandchildren,
taking care of his garden, and teaching his grandchildren about the fun of growing a garden. He and Helen spent
their retirement traveling to places like Israel, Grand Canyon, Alaska, Hawaii, Amsterdam, and Europe. He also
enjoyed vacationing with his grandchildren to places like Tahoe, Borrego Springs, and Avila Beach.
Paka Don's greatest joy was sharing with his grandchildren the Love of Jesus Christ. He had a genuine love for
the Lord and exemplified the Spirit of Christ to those who knew him. He loved singing praises to Jesus and
always talked about walking through the pearly gates to see his Lord. He was a member of Riverview
Evangelical Church and was a part of many wonderful fellowships groups.
The family invites you to join with them in his "Celebration of Life" on October 12th, at 10:00 a.m., at Riverview
Evangelical Free Church, 4980 Sweetgrass Ln, Bonsall, CA 92003, followed by a military ceremony, at
2:00 p.m., at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr., San Diego.
The family would like to thank every for all your prayers and support offered on behalf of Don. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made in memory of Don Lovelady to Riverview Evangelical Free Church.
