Donald was born in Arizona to S.V. Kinnsch and Esther. He had two brothers and moved around a bit until settling in Compton,  CA where he met and married Cecelia Sever;  They had three boys and eventually moved to Orange County, southern CA.  During this time he was pursuing  a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and eventually achieved a Masters Degree in Business Administration  and had a varied and esteemed career working for Bechtel Corp.  He was able to work and travel to various projects in the United States and Europe.
Eventually, he retired after working in Georgia and resettled in Southern California.
