Dave Soto was born on March 25, 1934 and raised in San Pedro, Ca. He attended Barton Hill Elementary School, Dana Jr Hi and San Pedro High School. Dave entered the Army on April 19, 1954 through February 29, 1956. Shortly thereafter, he met Julie Elaine Alvarez and had four children, David (Virginia), Ronald (James), Leslie (Mickey) and Shelley. He then married Beverly as she brought her children Charles, Denise and Stephanie (Phil) into the marriage. Dave was employed by Todd Shipyards and Bethlehem Steel as a Pipefitter and Boilermaker. After attending Los Angeles Harbor College for HAVC Systems, Dave was hired by the Long Beach Naval Shipyard, air conditioning and refrigeration unit, advancing to foreman for Shop 56. After retirement, Dave resided in Fallbrook, Ca. where he married Kerry Hill as she brought in two sons, Shawn (Patricia) and Grant (Monica). Dave was active with the Fallbrook Senior Citizens Center as a past president and member of the Billiards Club and The Ukulele Club and also spent time in his garden and tending to his citrus trees. Dave is survived by his wife, Kerry, 4 children, 3 step-children, 4 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Dave was affectionately known as "Cat" to many of his friends and family since his days in the army! A husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and a friend to all that came his way. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
