On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, Celia Hofilena Yusay Diaz, devoted wife and loving mother of three, passed away at the age of 72. Celia was born on May 29, 1948 in Silay City, Philippines to Eduardo and Eva Hofilena Yusay. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Riverside College of Nursing in Bacolod City. She moved to the United States in 1970 as an exchange nurse. On April 25, 1971, she married Cipriano Delima Diaz. They raised two daughters, Catherine and Cheryl, and one son, Cyprian.

Celia worked tirelessly as a nurse. Being a military wife, she worked at various hospitals across the United States as well as in Panama. She had a passion for dancing, shopping, and playing slots in casinos. She remembered winning the jackpot several times but didn't remember the losses nor did she mind them--she only remembered the good times, in both gambling and in life. Her favorite color was red, and she was known for being the life of the party and for her infectious smile.

Celia was preceded in death by her father, Eduardo, and her mother, Eva as well as her brothers, Romeo and Reynaldo. She is survived by her husband Cipriano; their three children, Catherine (Mike), Cheryl (Kyle), and Cyprian; her grandchildren, Marcus Ian and Casey May; and her sisters Rosemary and Maria Lourdes.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church at 450 S Stage Coach Ln, Fallbrook, CA 92028 at 11 o'clock a.m. Flowers may be sent to Berry Bell and Hall Mortuary, 333 N Vine St, Fallbrook, CA 92028.
