Carolyn Dundas
Bartholome
Nov 4, 1937 — Jan 25, 2025
Carolyn Marie Bartholome was born on November 4, 1937 in Los Angeles, CA, and passed away peacefully on January 25th, 2025. She was the youngest daughter of Sidney and Louine Dundas, and sister to Eva Dundas and Patricia Potter.
Carolyn grew up in southern California and graduated from Bell High School in 1955. While attending a New Years' Eve party with another date in 1958, she met Richard "Dick" Bartholome. They were married on December 26, 1959. They were inseparable and married for 63 years prior to Dick's passing in 2023.
Carolyn pursued an education at Whittier College graduating with a degree in education. She taught middle and high school math when her children were older. Carolyn and Dick raised their four children (Kim, Jim, Roger, and Jill) in Claremont, CA. She supported her children in their younger years in all their
activities, then enjoyed quilting and participating in social groups in her retirement years. Carolyn traveled the world extensively with Dick until health no longer enabled them to do so. She was an amazing seamstress and cook, which are skills she passed on to her children and grandchildren.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her four children, Kim (Mark) Eskeldson of Kimberly, Idaho, Jim Bartholome of Kimberly, Idaho, Roger Bartholome of Newport Beach, California and Jill Bartholome of Imperial, California, sister Patricia Potter of Laguna Hills, California, grandchildren Jeff (Abby), Justin, Rachel, Andrew, Shelby (Cody),
Kelsey, Sierra, and Todd, and three great-grandchildren. Although her memory failed her in recent years, nothing brought more joy to her than holding and loving her three great grandchildren, Emma, Sadie, and Benjamin. She was preceded
in death by Dick, her husband of 63 years, in April, 2023, and her sister Eva.
The family is thankful to Danica for overseeing the best possible care for Carolyn in her last months at Vivante in Memory Care. A private Celebration of Life will be held at the Graveside on February 8th, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton for close family.
