Obituary

Beverly was one of four children born and raised in El Paso, Texas to Don and Leonor Pierce. As a child she was gregarious, outgoing and grew up with a very supportive and tight family bond.

Beverly was a devout Catholic. She enjoyed attending Bible study classes, continually learning about Christ's life. Her home is filled with prayers that gave her comfort and inspiration on her journey. She loved her family more than anything else, and was a loving and dedicated mother and wife.

Beverly especially loved children, and treated all children as if they were her own. God blessed her with her own children, Austin and Hannah. She beamed with pride when talking about them. She not only raised these two wonderful young adults, she contributed to the care and support of many children in her family, and those of her friends. She had a tender heart for children and embraced them unconditionally. She loved nothing more than coming to the aid of a frantic mother in need of care for their child; Beverly to the rescue! She came in with love, grace and patience.

Most special times were those spent with family; she enjoyed life's simple pleasures. Over the years her favorite "go to" activity was spending endless hours running (and later walking) on the beach at Torrey Pines. She loved playing paddleball at Torrey Pines, hiking Black Mountain, Iron Mountain, and many other trails around San Diego County. She thoroughly embraced the San Diego lifestyle. Walking their dogs, Coco and Fydo, around the neighborhood was one of her favorite jaunts.

Charity and kindness were paramount in Beverly's life. Long before she met Jose she would take her young children downtown San Diego to volunteer at Meals on Wheels. She understood the importance of the virtue of charity, and she shared this legacy with her children. She did not boast about what she did, rather she did it quietly and lovingly not excepting or wanting recognition. She was humble and kind. Her friends experienced this spirit every day.

Holidays were special to Beverly. She went all out to make every holiday special for family and friends. Gatherings in her home with Jose and her children were when Beverly shined the brightest. She loved entertaining with Jose by her side, welcoming all into their home, so graciously. She loved sharing her home and family with everyone in her life.

Beverly enjoyed many long-lasting friendships over the years. Once you were her friend, you were her friend for life, and you knew it! She was a loyal, loving and amazingly generous friend. She had a giving spirit and uncompromising strength. She was committed to strong values, and drew clear distinction between right and wrong.

So how did this amazing soul land in San Diego? Her sister, Barbara and husband Karl were the trailblazers, but once Beverly was drawn in by the majestic Pacific Ocean and beautiful sandy beaches, she chose this lifestyle for herself. Beverly moved from El Paso in 1988.

Initially Beverly lived in Encinitas, with her precious cat Bentley. Her downtime was spent reading romance novels while cuddling Bentley and consuming an entire jar of jalapeno stuffed olives!

Career:

After moving to San Diego she worked a short while in real estate and property management. Shortly thereafter Beverly was sought out by a local broker-dealer, and began an exciting career in the securities industry. She began this journey as an Executive Assistant and in due order took on new responsibilities in the compliance area. This new position required Beverly to have her securities licenses, so she jumped right in, and accomplished this task. She developed into an effective and successful compliance analyst, and earned a reputation as a highly respected compliance professional.

As her children grew Beverly began yet another career in real estate. She received her real estate license, while continuing to make her children her priority.
