Barbara Jeanette Thurston, age 80, died peacefully on November 13, 2017,
in Fallbrook, California.

Barbara was born, at home, in Fallbrook, California, on December 1,
1936.  She was the daughter of Clarence and Jessie (Fleming) Kinney.

She married Ross Thurston on December 22, 1951.  They were parents of
three children.  Barbara worked with her husband Ross, who was an agent
for State Farm Insurance in Fallbrook, for 34 years.

Barbara loved sewing and quilting.  Almost everyone in the family has a
quilt that Barbara made. She had a special recipe for persimmon cookies,
a recipe passed down from her mother.  Many in the family enjoyed these
cookies.  She was also known and loved for her compassion and assistance
she gave to those in need.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Donna Brandhagen (Lee), David
Thurston (Gayle), Deborah Miller (Art), a brother, Laurence Kinney
(Edna), a sister, Helen Burr, nine grandchildren, 13 great
grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.  Barbara was preceded in
death by her parents, husband and her brother, Virgil Kinney.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 3:00
p.m. The location will be the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 512
S. Stagecoach Lane, Fallbrook, California.
