Obituary

Anne Elizabeth Hawthorne Weise (née Brown) passed away on August 9, 2024, at the age of 57, in Fallbrook, CA. Born on March 19, 1967, in Altadena, CA, Anne grew up with a zest for life, engaging in activities like horseback riding, skiing, and water skiing.  She carried this love for adventure throughout her life.

Anne was a graduate of Fallbrook Union High School and then of the University of San Diego. She dedicated her career to education, beginning in 1990 at Pala Mission - San Antonio de Pala School. Her journey continued with the Capistrano Unified School District in Orange County, California, and at the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School. She also served as a guest teacher in the Bonsall and Fallbrook School Districts. Later, Anne moved to the Coachella Valley, where she worked as an Interventional Reading Specialist at Dr. Carreon Academy in Indio, CA.

Anne was known for her gentle spirit, determination, and independence, as well as her sense of humor and infectious laugh. Her greatest joy was her son, Luke, whom she often described as the very best part of her life. Anne was a fun-loving individual who deeply valued her friendships and family relationships. She enjoyed gourmet cooking and various arts and crafts, which reflected her creative spirit.

Anne was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, where she found great solace and community.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Weise; son, Luke Hawthorne; parents, Nancy and James Brown; brother, David Brown; sister-in-law, Tracey Brown; nephews Sam Brown, Jacob Brown, and Gage Hawthorne, aunts and uncles Martha & Richard de Blois, Janet Frane, and Robert Brown. Anne was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Brown; uncle Robert Frane; and grandparents Jeannette & Joseph de Blois, and Beverly & A.M. Brown.

Berry Bell and Hall in Fallbrook, CA, is assisting the family during this time. Anne's life and legacy will be remembered for her profound impact on her family, friends, and the many students she taught throughout her career.
