Obituary

Angela (Smith) Chapman was born on April 4, 1956 in Saint George, Utah.  She passed away from this life on January 27, 2025 in her Fallbrook California home with the family by her side.

Angie was the second of three children born to Ruel Clyde and Marilyn Harmon Smith of Overton, Nevada. Angie graduated from Moapa Valley High School in 1974. She met and married her husband Michael E Chapman Sr. while attending Brigham Young University.

Angie was born into a family with parents talented in music and art. From elementary through High School, she sang in public settings in duets and trios with her brother and sister. In High School, Angie was a member of the Marching Band and Dance Drill team. Angie excelled in music as singer, guitar, pianist, and organist in university and church settings. Her talents in art included painting Christmas murals on business windows.

Mike was recruited from college for his first software engineering employment in Utah. He was fortunate to transfer to California soon thereafter where the family thrived and Angie could spend time at her favorite place, the beach.

Angie worked several part time jobs including night shift while her children were young. She completed training in Office Automation which enabled her 25-year Accounts Payable position to eventually managing the group.

They were fortunate to retire in Fallbrook California on a property with acreage, well, and orchard where they could enjoy year around hiking, biking, gardening, and time at the beach a near minutes away.

Angie had a twinkle in her eye, an infectious personality, and a kind smile for everyone.  She was an avid gardener, baker, puzzler, quilter, canner, and family historian.  It brought her joy creating fairy gardens with her grandkids to explore and remember her by.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Angie is survived by her husband Mike Sr., sister Michelle Nielson, brother Roland Ruel Smith, her daughter Keri Morris and husband Nathan, her son Daniel Chapman and wife Megan, her son Mike Chapman Jr. and Nida. Angie was blessed with six grandchildren: Jonathan, Lily, Holland, Ella, Benjamin, and Avery.
